Once you have completed the Intro to Rowing or with coaches approval, you can continue building your rowing foundation through our Novice Sweep Training Program.

Master’s Programs

Racing Team

The Masters Racing Team at the Austin Rowing Club is a competitive racing team composed of experienced rowers ages 21 and up  (many with college racing experience) who strive to race competitively at national and international regattas. Athletes train together year-round and compete in Open and Masters events at regattas in the spring, summer and fall. The Masters Racing Team has two assistant coaches, one of which focuses on developing less experienced athletes and the other focuses on assisting the head coach. Head Coach approval is required to join the Masters Racing Team. Anyone interested in joining the Masters Racing Team should be prepared to ride along at practices, do an erg test, and be evaluated on the water in a single and/or team boat prior to being allowed to join. The Masters Racing Team practices Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 5:45 am – 7:30 am and Saturday mornings from 7:00 am – 9:00 am on the water and requires land workouts outside of practice times. Please email rowing@austinrowing.org for more information.

Club Team

ARC’s Master’s Club team is for rowers looking for a team experience, structured practice and coaching, but not interested in time commitment of the racing team. To learn more about practice schedules and how to join, please email rowing@austinrowing.org.
