Paddle FAQ

Hourly Rentals

Do I need a reservation?

No. Our hourly rentals are available on a first come, first serve basis. In the Summer months, we recommend coming early in the morning to beat the crowds (and the heat!). Have a big group? Check out our Group Reservation page. Looking for our Guided Tours? Find out more here.

What do I need for rentals?

We require a Driver’s License, Passport, or Military ID per watercraft being rented along with an accepted form of payment and a waiver.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards, contactless payment like Apple, Google, and Samsung Pay, and gift cards. Sorry, no cash or checks.

What is included in my rental?

Your rental includes your watercraft, lifevest, and paddle.

Are life vests required?

Yes. Per Texas State Law, life vests are required for everyone and must be worn at all times for anyone 13 years and younger. Per ARC policy, guests 14 and older must wear their life vests to board their watercraft and are encouraged to wear it for the entirety of their paddle.

Do you have storage for my belongings?

We offer complimentary storage space in our open face cubbies, but we do not have any locking storage. We have phone pouches available for purchase, and dry bags available for rent. We recommend leaving behind any non-essential items at home.

Do you have bathrooms or changing facilities?

We do! We have indoor bathrooms on the upper level of the Boathouse.
Ask our desk staff for the code before heading out onto the water.

Can we bring coolers or food and drink with us?

Yes! Food and drinks are allowed. Please no alcohol, glass, or styrofoam on Lady Bird Lake. Don’t forget to pack out your trash with you!

Can we swim in the lake?

No. The City of Austin does not allow swimming in Lady Bird Lake.

Do you sell giftcards?

Yes! eGift Cards can be purchased here.
