What is Austin Rowing Club?

Austin Rowing Club is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization committed to making rowing accessible to everyone in the Austin community through affordable programs and events. ARC is dedicated to promoting rowing in the Austin community through, affordable options for membership, community outreach, excellent coaching, a variety of club programs, and hosting rowing events, including regattas and educational events.

How can beginner start rowing?

Beginners can join our beginning rowing classes, which offers comprehensive instruction in sculling. Successful participants can become members and enjoy all club benefits. Check out our learn to row programs here.

 

How do experienced rowers join?

Experienced rowers can join anytime. Our coaches will assess your skills and introduce you to our procedures and facilities. Learn more about memberships here. 

What are the membership costs?

General membership is $85 per month, including access to coaching and facilities. Our Master Racing Team Membership is $120 per month. We also offer Summer Collegate, Fitness, and Coxswain membership options. Learn more about our membership options here. 

Do you offer youth programs?

Yes, our Junior Program is open to students in grades 6-12, with no prior experience required. We also offer summer camps for middle and high school students. Learn more about our Junior Program here. 

What rowing programs do you offer?

We offer both sweep and sculling programs for recreational and competitive rowers, with coaching available throughout the week. Coaching is included in your membership dues at both the general and competitive membership. 

What types of boats are available?

We have a variety of sweep and sculling boats, each designated for specific skill levels. Our boats are primarily Vespoli, Resolutes, and Swifts. Members must be certified to use certain boats.

Where is the boathouse located?

Our boathouse is 74 Trinity St. Austin, TX 78701. We are located on the north side of Lady Bird Lake, behind the Four Seasons Hotel. We do not have our own parking lot but parking can typically be found in metered street parking or nearby garages. Look for parking options here

What events does ARC host?

We host two regattas a year: Heart of Texas Regatta (1K sprint) in March and the Head of the Colorado (5K head race in October). Additionally, we host informal fun races year round including the Firecracker on the 4th of July and Winter Warrior in January.  Off the water, members enjoy an annual Holiday Party, 4th of July BBQ, our September Annual Meeting, along with informal Happy Hours.
