Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I park?

We unfortunantly do not have parking on site however, there are many parking options nearby.Parking garages – Fairmont Austin, JW Marriot, and the 101 Colorado Garage.Metered street parking – typically can be found on Cesear Chavez, San Jacinto Blvd, or 2nd st. Check out more options here.

What do I need to bring?

To ensure a great experience on the water, bring your enthusiasm and a positive attitude. Dress in comfortable, form-fitting attire that allows for easy movement. Don’t forget your favorite water bottle to stay hydrated during your lessons. If you’re planning to row in sunny weather, a hat and sunscreen are essential to protect yourself from the sun. In cooler conditions, layering is key, so pack an extra set of clothes just in case. Remember to wear supportive shoes that you can easily remove before stepping into the boat. Lastly, a towel and personal items for after your lesson will help you feel refreshed and ready for your next adventure.

Will I get wet?

Although we do not anticipate you to get soaked, this is a water sport so you can expect to get splashed. (In the summer, this is often a welcome cool down). Additionally, since we are out on the lake, we ask that everyone who participates knows how to swim in case of emergency.

Is there an age limit?

Rowing is a life long sport. We’ve had members row into their 90’s! It is never too late to learn to row. Our Learn to Scull, Intro to Rowing, and Private Lessons are for people 18+. If you are under 18 and interested in rowing, check out our youth program here!
