Winter Warrior
Winter Warrioris a 8000 meter time trial race which begins at Redbud Island at the far west end of Lady Bird Lake, and finishes at Bird Island at the east end; known to locals as a "dam to dam" row. This event is open to all rowers and boat classes on Lady Bird Lake, including kayaks and canoes.
The Fighting Nutriais the collegiate version of Winter Warrior. University of Texas and Texas Crew compete for The Fighting Nutria Award through a point system which gives points to the fastest crews in categories of men's and women's fours and eights.The winner of the Fighting Nutria takes home what has become the most coveted award on the Lake, the actual Fighting Nutria.
